Abstract

This essay makes an effort to estimate the level of technical inefficiency of private medical clinics in Bangladesh,
identify factors that may hinder efficiency, explore the potential cost-savings by eliminating inefficiencies and
suggest policy measures to institute ‘best practice’ protocols to enhance performance. The paper points out how
efficiency in the health clinics can be improved through changes in managerial practices.
